We bet you all are very interested in how our days on the road look like. Until now we have spent most of the way in Norway so we are going to describe you our typical Norwegian day.
We haven’t been woken up by an alarm o’clock for 3 months. The time of getting out of the tent is between 7 and 8 am, less often even at 9 am. We manage to make some morning hygienic routine and return into our sleeping backs. In the morning there are annoying bloodthirstyMidge’s flies everywhere and on the top of that it’s usually quite cold so it’s nicer to have a breakfast in the warm tent. What do we have for breakfast? It’s various. Muesli with strawberry yogurt, muesli with vanilla yogurt, muesli with melon yogurt and the best of all is muesli with plum yogurt. If the nature is generous we pick some forest strawberries of blackberries and add them too. Actually, once we were forced to have something else. We didn’t find any yogurt in a village so we had to eat mashed eggs. When we are done with the breakfast there comes one of the two least favorite phases of the day – the packing. Then we “go to work”. We sit on our machines and scratch. Already after the first hour of our “work” we take a break and eat two pieces of bread with butter and marmalade. Depending on stores availability we complete our food stock and let our legs to rest by having a coffee or choco-milk.This break comes twice a day, well sometimes even three times a day. Well rested we cycle further until the lunch time, which comes between 1 – 2 pm. For lunch we have some bread with marmalade which we change every week because that’s the time for which the favorable 1 kg bucket last to us. Then we continue on our way. After two hours we take another break by which we snack biscuits, apple or nectarine. In case the Coop grocery store organize a free fruit tasting we afford our bodies to get a pretty amount of vitamins. When we don’t feel like “working” anymore we start to look around for a nice spot for our tent. Before that we still need to get some water for cooking and washing. We get it either from taps on the toilets in shops or in the nature, besides the sea and fiords. And there comes the second of the two least favorite phases of the day – the unpacking and building. We wash out the whole day hard work from ourselves. If we are on a roll we have a bath in a lake, river or any kind of pool. If not then face cloth works as a backup. Nicely “clean and fresh” we sit down to have a dinner. And how fancy it is? Well, a lot. Rise with peace, carrot, chick peace, corn, beans or champions. If it’s cold we make a soup too, the tomato or lentil one are our favorite. When our bellies are full we write the diary, think about the articles, plan the way for the next day, closing our eyes and fall asleep. In the morning it all starts again.
